You’ve likely noticed that The Tourist blog has been quiet as of late. Apologies! Our team has been working on two, huge projects over the past few months, and they’re finally going live this week. What this means is that we’re birthing some gnarly content out into the world AND returning to regularly blogging about all things art. But first, some of you may recall that the small team behind The Tourist is also the small team behind Hot Charity, a Bronx-based record label distributed by XL Recordings. Anyway, a big Hot Charity project went live today and it’s of interest to Tourist fans because it’s arty- Hot Charity’s Willis Earl Beal has shared the film trailer for Principles of a Protagonist, his new animated short film. It’s an adaptation of his 48pp novella (of the same name) that was bundled with Acousmatic Sorcery, his debut album that came out last spring. To celebrate the release of the film, Beal has partnered with BitTorrent to share the soundtrack’s 5 songs for FREE! And, he’s now on tour across North America for all of October promoting the initiative, so see him live. And, if that isn’t enough, his debut record is also discounted for all of October!
