Robert Gaudette is a Toronto-based fashion photographer. While he’s really adept at beautifully lit, black and white studio photography (and this alone is worth posting about), he’s also creating really unique paintings that he photographs. Working with what appears to be either acrylic or latex paint, Gaudette creates dimensional works that share a look that is similar to some of Joan Miró’s more minimalist works (even utilizing colors and tones like black, red and blue that Miró had an affinity to). The works exist in this strange milieu between painting and photography which makes them fundamentally interesting. Robert Gaudette is on Tumblr so follow him, and keep an eye on these types of works. We hope he intends on furthering them!
