We were working in the office last week and there was a knock on the door; it was the postman delivering a parcel for one of our co-workers. Obviously, this is a typical thing- every office gets heaps of mail. However, the parcel that was delivered was a thing of beauty- it is without doubt the most beautiful piece of mail we’ve ever received. It turns out it was from Bologna’s Barbara Calzolari; an Italian calligrapher who operates as Gentle People. Her hand style is insane, and combined with the hand made envelopes she makes, it’s just jaw dropping stuff. If you’re an illustrator, into typography or write graffiti, you should really check out Calzolari’s work as you’ll surely learn a thing or two from it / derive inspiration from it.
