Benjamin Edelberg is a Chicago-born, Toronto-based mixed media artist. Working in decoupage, screen printing and collage, Edelberg’s work is unified by his penchant for the restructuring of ‘found’ images. The aforementioned can be literal which is visible in his decoupage which utilizes torn, layered paper ephemera, and figurative which is visible in his screen printed work and collages which render ‘found’ images in new colorings or skew their original aesthetic through increased contrast. However, what we’re most fond of are his works that take visual cues from Dada-styled collages and the jaggedness of Russian Constructivism. Obviously more than just pastiche, these works are entirely original in their photomontages and how Edelberg chooses to color them. Benjamin Edelberg is on Tumblr so make sure to follow him.
