Tourist Book Report #27- Cometbus #54: In China with Green Day is another banger of a read by the always entertaining Aaron Cometbus. Self-published and almost 100 pages in length, the book is part tour diary/part musing on the evolving nature of long terms friendships as Cometbus returns to touring with Green Day after 20 years since last roadieing for them. While you’d expect the read to be sardonic (e.g. DIY punk stalwart writer goes on tour with punks turned mainstream rockstars), it’s actually quite endearing and chock full of wisdom. Full of locational anecdotes, character studies and tales of mischief, Cometbus #54 is a must read. If you’ve never read any Cometbus, you really got to get into his stuff!
